Abstract
Bangladesh has made remarkable progress towards the attainment of MDGs and is currently on the track to achieve progress towards the timely achievement of SDGs. Progress in the parameters of human development – health, education and income inequality – also indicate progress in the SDGs, primarily SDG 3, SDG 4 and SDG 10. The institutional infrastructure of the country along with the policy framework, tools and instruments all play a key role in the implementation of policies and subsequent attainment of SDGs. This paper aims to address the salient issues that arise with the strategic policy formulation and implementation of human development and SDG policies of Bangladesh. It also outlines the prospects and challenges for Bangladesh in a global context and highlights its progress with regards to the implementation of SDGs.
