Abstract

Sixteen kinds of FeCrAl coatings with different Cr and Al contents were prepared by the magnetron sputtering method, and the thermal shock resistance and static lead‑bismuth eutectic (LBE) corrosion behavior (500– 650 °C for 1000 h) were investigated. The results show that the coating with poor thermal shock resistance could also peel off during the corrosion test, and the corrosion resistance of the coating is strongly related to the Cr and Al composition. A relatively high Al content could be required for the FeCrAl coatings to maintain outstanding performance, which is different from the traditional design of the FeCrAl bulk alloys.
