Abstract

Thirty cultivars of mango growing at Regional Horticulture Research and Training Station, Jachh, Nurpur, Kangra and 18 cultivars of mango growing at Regional Horticulture Research and Training Station, Dhaulakuan, Sirmour were evaluated for their resistance/susceptibility against mango anthracnose (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) under natural epiphytotic conditions for two consecutive years i.e., 2014 and 2015. None of the cultivar showed resistant disease reaction against the anthracnose disease in both districts on fruits and leaves. At Jachh, five cultivars viz., Pusa Peetamber, Pusa Shreshth, Pusa Surya and Apple Mango showed moderately susceptible reactions to anthracnose and rest of the cultivars were either susceptible or highly susceptible. At Dhaulakuan two cultivars viz., Pusa Arunima and Pusa Surya exhibited susceptible reaction and rest of the cultivars were highly susceptible. Apparent infection rate of cv. Pusa Pratibha at Jachh was the lowest with 0.08 per unit per day with minimum area under disease progress curve of 6.45.
