Abstract

The results showed that minimum incidence of Nephotettix virescens, Nilaparvata lugens and Sogatella furcifera was noticed in the var. RC-MANIPHOU-6-RC-5, followed by RC-MANI-PHOU-11 and WR-15-6-1 with a lowest mean population of 0.80 hoppers/hill, 1.09 hoppers/hill and 0.91 hoppers/hill respectively. Among the various new insecticides thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 25 g a.i. ha−1 proved to be the most effective insecticides in reducing the population of Nephotettix virescens and Sogatella furcifera with lowest mean population of 1.52 hoppers/hill and 0.70 hoppers/hill, respectively. Whereas dinotefuran 20 SG @ 200 g a.i. ha−1 proved to be the most effective insecticides in reducing the population of Nilaparvata lugens with lowest mean population of 1.88 hoppers/hill.
