Abstract
Screening of some wild <italic>Vigna radiata</italic> germplasm namely Sub2, Sub9, Sub2/7/2, Sub2/3/4, <italic>setulosa</italic> and Sub14, and four popular cultivars of greengram namely B1, NP28, PS16 and Kopergaon against <italic>Callosobruchus chinensis</italic> (L.) was done by feeding assay in laboratory conditions. Resistance to bruchids was identified in a wild greengram <italic>Vigna radiata</italic> var. <italic>sublobata</italic> namely Sub2. All the cultivars showed susceptibility against bruchid. Hence, Sub2 could be utilised for the development of bruchid resistant segregating lines.
