Abstract
Podocytes cover the kidney glomerular basement membrane and present the final barrier in the renal filtration system. Podocyte loss, observed in most kidney diseases, correlates with kidney function decline. In this issue of Cell Chemical Biology, Seiber etal. (2018), using a high-throughput chemical screen, identified the compound CDG-0876, which improved podocyte survival.
