Abstract

Screen Editor and Emulator (SEE) is a freeware program for editing ASCII text files on any IBM compatible MS-DOS microcomputer with 128K of memory. SEE supports full screen color display and editing of ASCII text files up to 512K. The keyboard controls are designed to be compatible with popular editors and word processors including PFS:Write, Wordstar, and the Turbo Pascal editor. What is unique about SEE is that it is written in IBM 370 assembly language and is distributed in source program format. The source code can be modified to add, change, or delete keyboard commands to suit individual preferences. Using the freeware PC/370 assembler, SEE can be assembled in less than 60 seconds on a standard IBM PC (see references).
