Scottish independence movement faces uncertain future

Impacts Brexit has made independence more complicated, given that it would theoretically lead to a hard border between Scotland and England. A UK government under Keir Starmer is unlikely to consent to a referendum on Scottish independence. Sturgeon’s departure could lead to a more fragmented independence movement, similar to what has happened in Catalonia.
