Abstract

Background and Aim: Very low birth weight (VLBW) neonates constitute approximately 4%–7% of all live births and their mortality is very high (50%). There has been an effort in recent times to develop the severity score for the illness like score for neonatal acute physiology perinatal extension II (SNAPPE-II) score so that it is possible to prevent, particularly aiming the improvement of newborn children care.
