(Abstracted from Gynecol Minim Invasive Ther 2023;12:72–76) A continual rise of cesarean rates indicates a need to further study the possible development of lower uterine niches or cesarean scar defects, which can be described by adjacent myometrial thickness and residual myometrial thickness (RMT). Pregnancy complications such as placenta accreta spectrum disorders and uterine rupture are associated with RMTs of <2.2 mm.
