Abstract

In this paper, we discuss the development of a multimedia conferencing system, called SCM. The system implements ITU-T standards and supports most features found in existing multimedia conferencing systems, including video service, chatting area, cooperative document handling, multi point file transfer, voting support, and particularly a multicasting communication facility, which enjoys a great deal of reduction in bandwidth requirements.
