Abstract

Three patients developed delayed onset scleritis following planned extracapsular cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation. In all three patients both anterior and posterior scleritis was present. All three operations were complicated by vitreous loss, and a McGann anterior chamber intraocular lens was implanted in each case at the time of surgery. The scleritis was treated with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent; however, sub-optimal visual acuity resulted in all cases.
