Abstract
Scintillation materials with nano- and subnanosecond scintillation decay times are obtained. The effect of the deformation and particle sizes of the scintillator powders on the scintillation kinetics is studied. A mechanism explaining the acceleration of the scintillation kinetics of the deformed powders of metal halogenides is proposed.
