Abstract

He died alone and almost penniless in a New York hotel room, yet he made a series of inventions that changed the world. Nikola Tesla, who was born 150 years ago this month, pioneered the alternating-current technology that remains at the heart of electricity generation to this day, and was instrumental in the development of radio. Keen to revive the memory of the Serbian scientist and inventor that they believe has been overlooked by historians, Tesla enthusiasts are holding a series of events around the world to mark this anniversary.
