Abstract

As a key psychological factor that affects learning behavior and restricts learning efficiency, learning motivation has a high positive correlation with academic achievement, which can predict and inform students' academic achievement. Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS 11.5) is used to analyze the learning motivation of 386 vocational college students in Shanghai. The reason why SPSS 11.5 is used is that this software can be better automatic statistical mapping and easy to use. Besides, it can be a good analysis of the relationship between data. The results show that: (1) The score of endogenous motivation of higher vocational students is significantly higher than that of exogenous motivation in Shanghai; (2) there is no significant difference in learning motivation among higher vocational students of different grades and genders; (3) higher vocational students with different majors have significant differences in learning motivation; (4) higher vocational students with different household registration sources have significant differences in learning motivation. This study makes a comprehensive investigation on the learning motivation of vocational students in Shanghai (including grade, gender, major and student origin), so as to understand the current situation and existing problems of the learning motivation of vocational students in Shanghai, which can provide effective reference for educators to improve the learning motivation of vocational students and improve their academic performance.
