Abstract

The scientific assessment of scholar is done with the help of citation count of articles, citation-based metrics and the social network analysis (SNA) metrics. Generally, the assessment process considers only one type of measures. But generally, it seems that the collaborative approach has been used to complete the research work and the collaborators pays the significance role in the scientific assessment of scholars. So, we cannot ignore the importance of collaborators. In this context some of the research has been conducted and gives new indicators that have hybrid approach of citation-based metrics and the SNA metrics. The proposed indicators used the h-index and degree centrality of SNA and every author used the full credit of citation count. In this series of scientific assessment process of scholars, we have designed two new measures HH-index and HR-index. The proposed indices are the combination of normalized citation count, correlation coefficient, h-index/R-index and the degree centrality. The normalization of citation count is based on the proportional and geometric counting methods. Further an experimental analysis has been conducted on 97562 scholar’s collaboration data and highlights that the proposed methods are more suited in comparison to other hybrid measures.
