Abstract

The article considers the main results of scientific research of the Russian philosopher A.D. Ursula in the field of studying the phenomenon of information and philosophical problems of society informatization. It is shown that these results are of fundamental nature and of high scientific and methodological significance for the further development of Russian and world science. The article highlights the decisive contribution of A.D. Ursula in the formation of the Russian scientific school of philosophy of information, as well as in the development of social informatics and information cultural studies, in which Russia is the world leader today. Some further promising directions for the development of these studies and their significance for science and education are presented.
