Abstract

Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Diplomacy is not a new concept in international cooperation; however, in the context of the global challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it has taken on a new significance. The pandemic indicated that the world is so interconnected and the only way to overcome this crisis is through effective international cooperation through regional and global STI diplomacy. This paper summarizes the early reaction of regional and international organizations that recognized the need for global efforts and partnerships to combat the pandemic and to implement accompanying measures to reduce the economic and social consequences, particularly among developing countries.
