Abstract

The innovation co-operation among the universities, enterprises and other involved organisations like the science parks seems to be more and more important. The same is with the networking with all of the players in the whole value chain of innovation. Through some selected funding and operation schemes and examples from Finland I hope to emphasis elements, which could be adapted to other countries in other science parks among the WTA members. The global economy is driving the whole innovation environment towards open innovation. The global competition is not only present in the business life, but it is more and more influencing the academic and research world. The keyword in open innovation is networking. The science and technology parks have an important role—building the networks between research, business and public authorities. The trend in one sentence: The more R&D (Research and Development) is changing to R&B (Research and Business) the more Know—How is changing to Know—Who.
