Abstract

Textbooks played a crucial role in the learning process, including learning physics. The study was intended to analyze scientific literacy aspects contained in physics textbooks on heat temperature and expansion. The results revealed that the three physics textbooks commonly used in schools had scientific literacy aspects as follows: scientific knowledge up to (3,68%), science aspect as a way of investigating by (1,91%), science aspect as a way of thinking up to (3,52%), and interaction aspect of science and technology, and community up to (1%). It meant that not all aspects of scientific literacy had been found in the textbooks, and the identified aspects of scientific literacy had a low percentage. The research results implied that teaching materials, such as modules with scientific literacy aspects with a high percentage value were needed.
