Abstract

A science history content in a science course is a humanizing element which makes the science appeal more strongly to imaginative and creative minds. It also provides perspective and prepares the pupil for the ever-changing character of modern science. Examples are given of charts which can key science history to its social and political background and which illustrate the interdependence of science and technology. Material is provided for use in a formal science history course and suggestions are also made for incorporation into orthodox physics courses. Useful sources of further information are also indicated.
