Abstract

The rapid development of the Web presents the opportunities to science communication, and by using latest Web2.0 technologies like blogs, we can construct an interactive platform to promote the relationship between scientists and the public. Conversely, this platform brings intractable challenges to all traditional science communication models especially the canonical account model. Many scientists can’t accept this interactive system, and worry about the accuracy of science information will be destroyed by using interactive platform of Web2.0. This paper takes Chinese science collaborative blog the songshuhui.net as an example. By analyzing quantitatively, the paper attempts to show that the advantage of the interactive science communication platform based on the Web2.0, and discuss the solutions to the controversy about science blogs.
