Abstract

In view of the improved health supervision of preschool children in our country and in view of the “new morbidity” among school children, a modern school health service should no longer allocate the bulk of its resources on routine health exminations. Health education and long-term support of children with special needs should receive more attention. Time for these tasks could be saved by replacing routine medical examinations by properly selected screening tests performed by auxiliary personnel.
