Abstract

These lectures split into two parts, the first concerns homogeneous electric fields and the second homogeneous magnetic fields. The reader is referred to the beautiful survey of Hunziker [36] for an introduction to the subject. To complement the one-body results reviewed in [36] I have given a rather detailed analysis of the N-body Stark effect following the work in [27,31,32]. There is essentially only one new development (not present in the published literature) which is presented here: The rather complicated semigroup Weinberg-van Winter analysis used in [32] has been replaced by a simpler technique.
