Abstract

The way statistics can be introduced for identical quantum particles constrained in a two-dimensional space, and how the corresponding Schrödinger operator can be constructed are discussed. Statistics is related to a representation of the braid group and the operator construction is done through Dirichlet forms. A connection with the Bohm-Aharanov problem is briefly discussed. The results outlined here stem from a collaboration with R. Figari and A. Teta. A complete presentation will be the content of a forthcoming joint paper.
