Abstract

The primary responsibility of school psychologists is the application of psychological assessment, consultation, and intervention within public school settings. This article examines the role of the school psychologist as an individual and as a member of a school's child study team. The changing role of the school psychologist is noted as are the various organizations school psychologists may join, their educational requirements, and other facets of the school psychologist field.
