This taxon is placed in the Phylinae: Semiini: Exocarpocorina on the basis of male and female genitalic structure and in the Melaleucoides group on the structure of the pretarsus. All known specimens were taken on the plant family Myrtaceae, most of those on the genus Scholtzia (tribe Chamelaucieae), with a lesser number of specimens taken on the genus Melaleuca (tribe Melaleuceae).
