Abstract

We describe a patient with chronic urticaria in association with monoclonal IgM gammop-athy (Schnitzler's syndrome). Seven years after the onset of the cutaneous lesions sensorimotor neuropathy developed. Myelin-associated glycoprotein was detected in the patient's serum. High doses of corticosteroids improved the skin condition but failed to prevent the neuropathy. Six months of treatment with immunoglobulins was without benefit.
