Abstract

Abstract We present a 57-year-old male patient with keratitis, he was initially started on topical 0.5% moxifloxacin eye drops, but his symptoms did not resolve and infiltrate continued to increase. Corneal scrapings and microbiological reports suggested the diagnosis of the fungus, Schizophyllum commune, the patient was then switched to topical 5% natamycin eye drops hourly for 1 week followed by eight times per day for 2 weeks and oral tablet fluconazole 200 mg twice daily, following which the infiltrate was reduced, hypopyon resolved and visual acuity improved after 2 weeks of treatment.
