Abstract

An integral equation approach is presented to analyze the scattering properties from aperiodic grating structure consisting of deformed shapes using the method of methods(MoM) together with the lattice sums technique. The periodic cell consists of twoscattering elements of different refractive index materials situated in free space or in abackground slab medium. The elements can be arranged in a single layer or double layerstructure and the double layered array structures possess unique properties that are lackingin the single layer structures. The numerical results show that the frequency responsebehavior of the structure can be controlled to meet a specific purpose. It is possibleto design a variety of important filters for practical applications by varying theparameters of both arrays. Suitable combinations of parameters can be appliedto meet design criteria such as symmetry, bandwidth and sideband properties.
