Abstract

The energy spectra of 2.76 MeV neutrons scattered on aluminium were measured at 30°, 60°, 90° and 120°, by means of nuclear emulsion detedtors. Discrete neutron groups, corresponding to nuclear levels of energy 1.013 MeV and 1.91 MeV, were investigated. The total cross section for the emission of neutrons from aluminium was obtained by transmission measurement, and the result compared with an optical model calculation.
