Abstract

ABSTRACT A novel method for the calculation of scattering of electromagnetic waves from closed conducting objects of arbitrary shape is presented. According to this method, the surface of the conducting scatterer is divided to a finite number of plane quadrilateral patches, on each of which the electric field boundary condition is applied. An inhomogeneous linear system of equations for the unknown current coefficients on the scatterer's surface is subsequently derived, which is solved by using traditional numerical techniques. The far - field scattering diagram is subsequently calculated numerically. Finally, numerical results for the case of a cubic scatterer are provided.
