Abstract

The dynamic theory of antiplane piezoelectricity is applied to solve the problem of a circular piezoelectric inclusion embedded in an infinite piezoelectric matrix subjected to horizontally polarized shear waves and a steady-state inplane electrical load. The problem is formulated by means of the wave function expansion method. Numerical calculations are carried out for the dynamic stress and electric field concentrations, and the results are presented in graphical form.
