Abstract

The formal solution of the problem of an obliquely incident plane acoustic wave scattered by a circular-cylindrical shell is presented here. In the limiting cases the solutions of the following scattering problems can be obtained from it: (i) a wave obliquely incident on a solid elastic cylinder, (ii) a wave normally incident on a solid elastic cylinder, and (iii) a wave normally incident on an elastic shell. The analysis of the form function at oblique incidence is presented in Chap. 11 for scattering from a solid elastic cylinder and in Chap. 12 for that from a shell. The results of computation and their analysis for scattering at normal incidence from a solid elastic cylinder are given in Chap. 7, and from a shell in Chaps. 2, 8 and 9.KeywordsForm FunctionAcoustic PressureObliquely IncidentElastic CylinderRigid CylinderThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
