Abstract

We briefly discuss how the property of self-similarity found in nature manifests itself in various types of scaling laws for the scattering of radiation from fractal structures. The cases of scattering from mass and surface fractals are discussed, as is the generalization to the case where an object may possess both mass and surface fractal dimensions. The important case of scattering from self-affine fractal surfaces is also illustrated.
