Abstract
A technique is presented for the problem of scattering from a lossy dielectric wedge that is based on ray tracing and aperture integration. To demonstrate the technique, a lossy slab was analyzed at 3 GHz and the results compared with a moment-method analysis. It is seen from the example that although there are some discrepancies in the patterns, the aperture integration technique can yield acceptable answers. The technique can be applied to electrically large structures where other techniques are not feasible, like a semi-infinite slab with a wedge termination. >
