Abstract

This article investigates the scattering characteristics of a flexible trifurcated lined duct containing multiple-step discontinuities in a general context. A semi-infinite duct is symmetrically situated inside an infinite acoustic-lined duct having step-discontinuities and generalized mixed boundaries. The scattering potentials in different regions are computed using the mode-matching approach. The influence of structural discontinuities, duct size, and material parameters on the energy functions of scattered fields is discussed.
