Abstract

This paper presents a scattering analysis from a gap in the inner conductor of a coaxial line. The Fourier transform/series technique is used to represent the continuous and discrete modes of the scattered field. The mode matching is utilized to constitute a linear matrix equation for the discrete modal coefficients. The result is given in a fast-converging series form that facilitates the numerical computations. Numerical results illustrate the behavior of scattered field in terms of the geometry and the operating frequency.
