Abstract

A multimode optical fiber with a D-shaped cross section has already been proved to constitute a privileged system to image wavefunctions of a chaotic system. Nevertheless, diffraction of light at the fiber input precludes the excitation of individual wavefunctions and particularly the modes we want to investigate. We show that a mechanism of scar modes selection can be induced by the introduction of a localized gain.
