Abstract

A low-speed unsteady Pressure-Sensitive Paint (PSP) measurement was applied to an unsteady pressure field on a 2-dimensional NACA0012 model, which accompanied by a trailing edge noise around 940 Hz. Maximum pressure fluctuation at U=28.6 m/s was about 150Pa p-p. Anodized-aluminum PSP (AA-PSP), which is one of the fast-response PSPs, was coated on the model. Unsteady pressure on the model was measured using the scanning unsteady PSP measurement system and the quantitative unsteady pressure power was mapped. Large pressure fluctuation was located near the trailing edge. Though the test model was 2-dimensional, the measured distribution was not 2-dimensional but 3dimensional. It was also measured that the large pressure fluctuation area moved toward the trailing edge according to the decrease of the model angle of attack from =-1.5° to -4.0°.
