Abstract

A study of shaped Teflon lenses has been conducted for imaging applications at millimeter-wave frequencies. It is found that lenses made of Teflon have inherently an approximate Abbe sine condition when designed with a conventional plano-convex shape, thus making them coma-free for nonaxial horn positions. Measurements confirm the predictions. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
