Abstract

This study compared the effects of a new CO<SUB>2</SUB> laser device on the enamel surface of deciduous teeth in the continuous and superpulsed mode. Literature presents works on superpulsed CO<SUB>2</SUB> laser specially on bone tissue and only tow studies on permanent teeth. Deciduous exfoliated noncarious human canine teeth were used from the teeth collection of the Dentistry College of the University of Sao Paulo. The results showed specific changes on the surface of human deciduous teeth enamel after application of CO<SUB>2</SUB> laser and CO<SUB>2</SUB> laser superpulsed.
