Scandinavian Anaesthesia History

Abstract

I N CONNECTION with the 50th anniversary of the Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiologists a group of Scandinavian anaesthesiologists published a book “Scandinvavian Anaesthesia during 150 years” (150 år med Nordisk Anesthesiologi). This book was distributed amongst the participants of the 25th (Jubilee) Congress in Aarhus, June 1999, and subesquently to all members of the national societies of anaesthesiologists in Scandinavia ( Fig. 1). Dr Leo Telivuo, active in research and a member of the SAY. Unfortunately, due to a mistake on my part one photograph was wrongly published in the Finnish chapter. The Editor-in-Chief of Acta Anesthesiologica Scandinavica has kindly given me the opportunity to correct this error, which appears on page 74 in the book. The man performing a paediatric anaesthesia in the first picture on this page is Topi Suutarinen not Dr Leo Telivuo who is acknowledged in the legend. I am now trying to correct this mistake by distributing a photo of Dr Leo Telivuo through AAS, which could be included in the book. I also want to express my sincere apologies to the persons involved and to the author of the Finnish chapter Leena Janhunan who has had no part in this faux pas. Stockholm, 28 October 1999
