Abstract

A scaling theory of the low-field Hall effect in a two-component metal-nonmetal mixture near the percolation threshold of the metallic component is formulated and some of its physical consequences are examined. We predict that under certain conditions a peak in the Hall resistivity ${R}_{e}$ versus metal volume fraction ${p}_{M}$ can be observed near the threshold.
