Abstract

The 2D scaling approach for the optical properties of semicontinuous metal films is generalized to thick (3D) percolative films. Model calculations demonstrate that the scaling model is qualitatively different from any effective medium approach, and should be used whenever the inhomogeneity length scale is larger than the optical one.
