Abstract

A simple two-point representation of the tokamak scrape-off layer (SOL) in the conduction limited regime, based on the parallel and perpendicular energy balance equations in combination with the heat flux width predicted by a heuristic drift-based model, was used to derive a scaling for the cross-field thermal diffusivity For fixed plasma shape and neglecting weak power dependence indexes 1/8, the scaling is derived.
