Abstract

We investigate the solution of a large class of Bethe-Salpeter equations for dilation invariant field theories, and examine the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions as ν and q 2 become infinite. In the Bjorken limit ( ωq 2 = 2 mν → ∞) dilation-invariant field theories do not scale. Scaling can be recovered only by breaking dilation invariance, when an ultra-violet cut-off is introduced.
