Abstract

The dependence of the gauge coupling constants of Hořava-Witten models on the size of the compact dimensions are discussed. Values of all factors are computed for the first time. Non-standard embedding are considered for the first time and illustrate the possibility of a hidden sector with smaller tree level gauge coupling than the observable one. Possible presence and effects of dark matter on the hidden wall are emphasized.
