Abstract

A scalar-meson dominance model in which the $\ensuremath{\epsilon}$ is coupled derivatively to pions is constructed to study the decay ${\ensuremath{\psi}}^{\ensuremath{'}}(3684)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J(3095)+2\ensuremath{\pi}$. This phenomenological approach leads to both an invariant pion mass spectrum in accord with the preliminary results from SLAC and an approximate value of the quark-gluon coupling (${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{s}$) of 0.2-0.3. We extend the model to include the pion decay modes of the ${\ensuremath{\psi}}^{\ensuremath{'}\ensuremath{'}}(4150)$.
