Abstract
Leakage scalar flux spectra are established for 6 MeV gamma photons penetrating laminated shielding assemblies of lead-aluminium and steel-aluminium. A large diameter disc radiator filled with activated water provides the source of high energy photons. Scalar leakage spectra are presented for penetration through 5, 10, 20 and 30 cm aluminium following 10 cm steel and 7.5 cm lead. Results show that leakage spectra in laminated shields are characterized by the material properties of the outermost layer.
